we put fuel in them . We clean them up and get them ready for the next tournament .”
Longnecker expects the rental aspect as well as the commercial and industrial side of the business to grow with time as golf courses see the service that M & M provides .
“ We ’ re really ready to start , to get out there and hit those golf courses and get the fleet stuff going ,” Longnecker said . “ I think those golf courses are really watching to see how we do . They want to make sure they have service and support for years to come . The way our service department is running and the way our sales are going I think we ’ re here to stay .”
The industrial side of the business includes the Club Car line of utility vehicles .
“ The Carryalls and XRTs which run from your basic small utility vehicle all the way up to some pretty heavy duty utility vehicles and the four-wheel drive XRTs ,” Longnecker said . “ Golf course maintenance units all the way from the farmer who wants something that is dependable and reliable and will do what he needs it to do an everyone in between .”
Prices for golf cars range from about $ 26,000 for a Garia Luxury Golf Car that features and in-dash refrigerator among other options , to used electric golf cars for under $ 4,000 . The Club Car line is what sells the most .
“ We ’ re a Club Car distributor and their flagship car in the Onward ,” Longnecker said . “ There are four different basic configurations . You have a two passenger , four passenger and then lifted and non-lifted . It kind of meets the needs of everybody from your basic golfer to someone that wants a top end consumer car .” Club Car offers some bells and whistles as part of their base packages .
“ They come stock with headlights , tail lights , signal lights , horn , which is normally something that would cost quite a bit to add to one ,” Longnecker said . “ You have a myriad of colors to choose from and a whole wall of options that you can go through and customize your own car .”
There are also 40th Anniversary models that arrived in Andover last week .
“ It ’ s a custom color just for M & M for our 40th anniversary ,” Longnecker said . “ I have three of those . I have them configured gas or electric . All two passenger but we can build it any way you want .”
M & M also is a Tomberlin dealer . The M & M Golf Cars LLC began in 1978 after founders Chris and Vivian Miller leased six new golf cars and leased five to their employer , the Mexico , Mo . Country Club , and sold the other .
Since then the company has expanded to locations in Mexico , Mo ., Bettendorf , Ia ., O ’ Fallon , o ., Lee ’ s Summit , Mo . and Andover .
