Very often, there can be an expectation of self-betrayal as a way of demonstrating just how close we are to her. And though children may want to make her happy, they may also have to pay a price to do so. This is why it’s so imperative that mothers and women be powerful and direct in their own right, with no betrayal or “blind loyalty” needed as a way of showing love. Historically, women for countless generations had to exert their power indirectly in order to be felt or heard. But for our next generation’s sake, as well as our own, let’s break that pattern of the past so that we all may enjoy a more fulfilling and empowered future.  We Are Our Ancestors’ Dreams Come True Now, at the dawn of the 21st century, Mother Earth hangs in the balance. She may not need us, but we surely need her. We need her air, her water, her land, and every resource she abundantly provides. She feeds us and clothes us from infancy to old age. At the very least, she deserves respect and honor. She is the true mother of us all. Namaste to all  mothers and to our  beautiful home planet.
