by Capt. Casey Brunning Marsh & Bayou Outfitters Whether young or old, seasoned or beginner, male or female, salt or freshwater, the competitive tournament scene has something for everyone; but just like any sport, there is a competitive nature within the people involved, a learning curve, a roller coaster of ups and downs - both financially and emotionally, and a sense of accomplishment or defeat at the end of the day. Tournament fishing is still what it was back in the days of Bill Dance and Roland Martin, it’s still a sport of winning and losing; and though the rules may have changed and the target species may include more than freshwater, it’s not a sport where everyone gets to take home a trophy. It’s a sport of winning and losing. 46 May 2016 www.marshandbayou.com
