GSE Pre-Calculus Course Description: This is a fourth year mathematics course designed to prepare students for calculus and similar college mathematics courses. This course requires students to:  Analyze and use trigonometric functions, their graphs and their inverses  Use trigonometric identities to solve problems and verify equivalence statements  Solve trigonometric equations analytically and with technology  Apply trigonometry to general triangles  Understand and use the unit circle to solve various problems  Perform operations on matrices and use matrices in applications  Model & perform operations on vectors  Perform arithmetic operations with complex numbers and represent complex numbers and their operations on the complex plane  Graph conic sections and identify their important characteristics  Use the rules of probability to compute probabilities of compound events in a uniform probability model  Calculate expected values and use them to solve problems Pre-requisites: GSE Algebra II or GSE Accelerated Geometry B/Algebra II Grade Levels: 11-12 Terms Offered: Fall & Spring Units of Credit: 1.0 Quality Points: 0.0
