GSE Pre-Calculus
Course Description:
This is a fourth year mathematics course designed to prepare students for
calculus and similar college mathematics courses.
This course requires students to:
Analyze and use trigonometric functions, their graphs and their
inverses
Use trigonometric identities to solve problems and verify
equivalence statements
Solve trigonometric equations analytically and with technology
Apply trigonometry to general triangles
Understand and use the unit circle to solve various problems
Perform operations on matrices and use matrices in applications
Model & perform operations on vectors
Perform arithmetic operations with complex numbers and represent
complex numbers and their operations on the complex plane
Graph conic sections and identify their important characteristics
Use the rules of probability to compute probabilities of compound
events in a uniform probability model
Calculate expected values and use them to solve problems
Pre-requisites: GSE Algebra II or GSE Accelerated Geometry B/Algebra II
