It is now more widely being accepted and utilized in conjunction with Western medicine for a better outcome and without all the side effects that come with medication therapy.

TCM practitioners use acupuncture, herbal, and medicinal formulas to bring balance to the mind

and body connection. Acupuncture is conducted by manipulating small, sterilized needles on

various body points that stimulate certain channels, called meridians. These channels are all connected throughout the body.

Acupuncture therapists also use several other modalities to treat pain, such as cupping, Gua Sha, and Tui Na. Acupuncture is a wonderful modality for a non-surgical face lift. It stimulates the production of new collagen, which provides elasticity.

It can help prevent or firm up sagging skin by

stimulating facial muscles. In addition it promotes blood flow and nourishment to the skin, which in turn makes the skin glow and look younger. Facial acupuncture is a wonderful natural way delay the aging process..

Unlike Western Medicine that treats the symptoms of an illness and parts of the body, TCM

treats the root cause of an illness and the whole body. By treating the root cause, the symptoms

will slowly disappear. This concept, which treats from the inside out, is key to long, healthy

living.

Food is also used by TCM practitioners as medicine. In TCM, it is essential for one’s body to be connected to nature around it. In addition, seasonal changes mean diet changes.

Therefore, it is best to consume various food at certain times of the year. For example, Asian pear is known to moisten the lungs; therefore, it is eaten in the beginning of fall to prevent the lungs from drying. TCM is an extraordinary, holistic type of medicine without all the side effects of allopathic medicine.
