Transdermal Magnesium: Faster and More Efficient

Rather than reaching for a tablet, perhaps we could do more about our lifestyle choices, such as avoiding excessive stress (psychological, over-work or repetitive

stress, chemical, electro-magnetic, sleep deprivation, excessive alcohol, smoking etc.). Even though some stress is necessary for cells to learn to build strength and

adapt to changing environments, it is our ability to adequately recover from that stress which determines our fitness and wellness… And recovery is determined by magnesium status.

Swimming in the ocean is a good source of magnesium replenishment via transdermal magnesium absorption. The skin is the largest organ of the body and is well suited

to both excrete electrolytes and to absorb them as well.

It acts similarly to a soil reservoir for plant nutrients, and the capillaries of the dermis act like tree roots to absorb the nutrients required. The body will not overdose itself

this way, and absorption can bypass the digestive system without a diarrhoea effect.

Try a relaxing magnesium chloride bath or footsoak to calm stress and promote a better sleep. Magnesium oil or lotion massage for muscles, as well as magnesium cream skin care, are convenient options not only to top

up magnesium reserves, but also to support skin health and more youthful hydrated appearance.

Transdermal magnesium absorption works well and it's fast. No need to wait hours to digest anything. We are really only at the beginning of our understanding of the extraordinary electrical power of magnesium to promote health and wellness. We could be doing a lot more with diet and lifestyle to prevent premature ageing and

degenerative diseases, such as increasing magnesium uptake. Wouldn't it be great not to need chronic consumption of pills to manage pain and inflammation because food and environment provides the right

nutrition for optimal health?

About the Author:

Sandy Sanderson suffered a health crisis in 2008 from years of stress overload and shift work as a magazine publisher. She discovered that magnesium deficiency was the primary cause of stress-related diseases, and transdermal magnesium helped her to recover from heart arrhythmia and other symptoms of hypothyroidism. Since that time Sandy, together with her husband Peter, a formulating chemist, have been on the mission of their lifetime to develop an Australian range of natural magnesium body care products branded Elektra Magnesium. Sandy spoke at the 2013 NEXUS Conference; see http://tinyurl.com/ycorpgfw.
