Hochzeiten, Standesamt, Empfänge, Pferderennbahn. Der Cut ist der kleine
Bruder des Fracks, er darf nur tagsüber raus.
WIE TRAGEN
Ein Cut ist stets einreihig, mit steigendem Revers. Die Schöße sind – anders
als beim Frack – vom Schließknopf an bogenförmig nach hinten geschnitten.
Stilecht kombinieren Sie ihn mit grauer Weste und gestreifter Hose ohne
Umschlag, weißem Kragenhemd, silbergrauer Krawatte oder Plastron und
Einstecktuch.
FARBEN
Schwarz oder anthrazit.
FETTNÄPFCHEN-ALARM
Einen grauen Zylinder dazu tragen Sie am besten nur in schwindelerregend
hohen gesellschaftlichen Kreisen.

When to wear
Weddings, registry office, receptions, racecourses. The cutaway is the
younger cousin of the formal tux or dress coat; it’s not allowed out at night.
How to wear
Cutaway jackets are always single-breasted, with peaked lapels. Unlike in the
dress coat, the short front dovetails into a longer, wider back. For the classic
look, pair with a grey waistcoat, cuffless striped trousers, a white dress shirt,
a silver grey tie or ascot and a pocket square.
What colour to wear
Black or charcoal.

The grey top hat should only be added in the loftiest high-society circles.
