MASC Annual Reports MASC Annual Report 2017 - 2018 | Page 6

What Overview In its 28th year, MASC continued to provide bilingual, diverse artistic programming, delivered by professional artists. MASC artists work with children and adults in schools and in a variety of community settings across Eastern Ontario and West Quebec. MASC provides workshops, performances and numerous special events throughout the year. MASC’s overall artistic programming goals are consistent for all our audiences. Professional artists offer unique programming across all disciplines featuring diverse cultural backgrounds. Strong artistic programming is at the core of the work we do. In making programming decisions we consult with and respond to our communities as they express interest, needs and priorities important to them. We consider trends and curriculum focus and feel it is important to offer our audiences ‘unexpected’ experiences as well. In particular, there is an ever-growing interest in Indigenous culture and thus we are putting more emphasis on developing Indigenous content throughout our programs and events. 5
