Smokehaus Meats & Deli Celebrates 10 Years in
Martensville
continued from page 9
Trent’s love of meat and his community is
quite obvious. An example of this took place on July 27,
2012 when Smokehaus hosted a community BBQ using
his beloved ‘Big Green Egg’ to cook up some a mazing
barbequed ham. Although, hosting a community BBQ
is nothing out of the ordinary for Ens, the fact that he
continued to BBQ despite the 90km/hr. wind and pouring
rain that took place that particular day, was. “People

wind and I was
hoping it would get there that day, just so I could say I barbequed in a
hurricane. I don’t think many people can say that,” Ens stated. In 2012,
Smokehaus began carrying the Big Green Eggs, which is a charcoal burning
BBQ that was first introduced in 1974 and is manufactured in Mexico. They
are based on a design called Kamado, used in China and Japan for thousands
of years. The Big Green Egg is so insulated it is an effective way of cooking
in winter and unfavorable weather, which was demonstrated perfectly on
that blustery day in
2012.
All Areas of Law
While Ens joked
that future plans for
Smokehaus
were
completely secret,
he
focused on taking
advantage of greater

Martensville. While
thinking
about
future plans, Ens
began to reflect
on
