Conference

Venture Heights School held a conference for
Educational Associates from within the Prairie Spirit
School Division, as well as surrounding school divisions
Friday, October 7th. This was a first for the conference;
however, Amber Kraus, a grade 3 teacher at VHS, is

Keynote speaker
Brian Gislason, who
is a retired teacher and
superintendent,
spoke
about the important roles
that EA’s play in student
lives and how sometimes
those students don’t have
anyone else looking out for
them. Gislason’s emotional
presentation brought many
in the room to tears. Other
speakers included the
School Resource Officer,
Constable Sean Nave and
Jarid Brown, the PSSD

sessions were either a full
two hours, or one hour
each and EA’s were able
to choose based on their
interest.
