Royals On a Win Streak Janine Hayward Martensville Messenger The MHS Royals football team travelled to Esterhazy on Saturday to face the Warriors in the Provincial quarterfinal playoff game. They earned a spot by defeating North Battleford on home turf 52-0 on October 22. The team kept that momentum going in Esterhazy despite the difficult field conditions. They posted the first points on the board early and had a 10-0 lead at the half. The defense once again kept the opposition off the scoreboard as the Royals came home with the 27-0 win. It was an exciting game for the fans who made the long trip. Coach Evanisky will be preparing his team for another home game on Wilson Field Saturday as they advance to the semi-final game against Melfort. “This was our first provincial playoff win and well deserved for the guys,” commented Evanisky. “They worked hard and played well despite the field c o n d i t i o n s ” . Wear your blue and come out Saturday to Wilson Field and cheer on your Royals. Game time is 1:00pm. Go Royals!
