They defeated the Fire Flyers 5-2. They went undefeated in the tournament with 2 wins and 1 tie. Information may not be current due to submission deadline The 104th Grey Cup matchup is all set. The Ottawa RedBlacks weathered the elements on a snow-covered field in Ottawa Sunday to defeat the Edmonton Eskimos in a rematch of last years Grey Cup. The big story out of the East Final was rookie running back Kienan Lafrance stepping up after starting RB Mossis Madu Jr. was injured early in the game. Lafrance exploded for 157 yards and a touchdown and was named player of the game. Mike Reilly did all he could to come back from a 25-3 deficit. Reilly threw for 340 yards and 3 touchdowns to rally his team to a 28-25 score with under 3 minutes to go. Lafrance ruined the comeback with a 20yard touchdown run to put the nail in the coffin of the defending Grey Cup Champs by a score of 3523. The West Final was the total opposite right down to the weather. It was a beautiful day in Calgary and the Stamps were well rested. They hammered the BC Lions early and often and had a 32-0 lead at the half. It was over from there on. Calgary rolled to a 4215 victory mostly thanks to Bo Levi Mitchell and his 365 yards passing and three touchdowns. The Stamps and RedBlacks will play this Sunday in Toronto for the 104th Grey Cup. The Chicago Blackhawks are the hottest team in the NHL right now going 8-1-1 in their past ten games as of Sunday. Big injury news out of the league this week was Tampa Bay Lightning All-Star Steven Stamkos tearing the meniscus in his knee. The 26-year-old center is expected to miss 4-6 months, no not weeks, months. Stamkos could make it back for the playoffs but will most likely miss the remainder of the season. The Calgary Flames also got some less-than-stellar news last week. The Flames leading scorer Johnny Gaudreau will miss 4-6 weeks with a broken finger after being slashed multiple times in a game against the Minnesota Wild. Remember the AllStar Game last year? Is the name John Scott coming to mind? Well having a career 9 goal scorer in the NHL All-Star Game won’t happen again. The NHL has officially changed the rules for voting. The player must now be active on a teams roster and not been sent down to the AHL at all during the season. Scott was a one time thing and it was entertaining, but it’s time to get real. The Dallas Cowboys are starting a rookie quarterback, a rookie running back and are the best team in the NFL. Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott have led the Cowboys to 9 straight wins after losing the season opener. Elliot is averaging 110 yards per game and already has 9 touchdowns. Prescott has thrown for 17 touchdowns and only 2 interceptions. Dallas looks to keep their win streak alive this week against the Washington Redskins Thursday afternoon.
