Dancing in Disneyland
Marcy Cross,
Martensville Messenger
Many of the students at
Kristy's Dance Fusion have
a lot to be excited about.
The studio has offered
them the opportunity to
Dance The Magic as part of
the holiday parade on the
main street of Disneyland
in December of 2016.
“There are 54 dancers in
total coming on the Disney
trip and 20 of them are
from Martensville," said
Kristy, the studio owner.
Getting that many kids
to Disneyland is a huge
undertaking and requires
a lot of fundraising. So
far the group has held a
steak night Sunday, March
20 with 14 fundraising
families
participating.
Another endeavor has
been a special T-shirt.
Kristee Adrian is on the
fundraising
committee
and said, “The t-shirts
turned out great, and we
are potentially looking into
another order for the group
going to Disney.”
A mini showcase was held
Sunday, April 10th and
was another great success.
Tickets for a blanket that
was made for the group
to be raffled, sold from
the steak night through to
recital. The winning ticket
was drawn for at the mini
showcase and was won by
Sandra Stone.
The fundraising committee
has a number of ongoing
opportunities to support the
group and will continue to
do fundraisers throughout
the year.
