Local Players Reap Awards

Janine Hayward , Martensville Messenger Carson Albrecht and Dawson Boehm , Martensville Marauder Alumni players are presently playing Junior B hockey and had great rookie seasons .
Albrecht is presently playing with the Melfort Mustangs in the SJHL league this season . He missed a big part of the season due to injury but came back healthy and strong to contribute to the team in the last half . Melfort is holding on to their last playoff hope as they faced Humboldt on Tuesday . They were one point up on Melville Millionaires who went up against the Estevan Bruins Tuesday . Both these teams are vying for the last playoff spot . The Mustangs held their team awards banquet Sunday and Albrecht brought home the Most Improved Player of the Year Award . Albrecht , the 18-year-old center , played two midget seasons with the AAA Saskatoon Midget Contacts . In talking about his first season in Melfort , Albrecht commented , “ It was a tough season especially with having such a young team and I can ’ t wait to see what next year has in store for us .”
Dawson Boehm is presently playing with the Columbia Valley Rockies in the Kooteney International Junior B Hockey League . He currently resides in Invermere where the 18-year-old 6 ’ 3 ” defenseman has been a force with the team . The Rockies also held their Awards Banquet and Boehm brought home the Rookie of the Year and the Coaches ’ Choice Award for Best Defense and Most Coachable . Boehm played two Midget seasons with the AAA Beardy ’ s Blackhawks . “ Nothing beats doing something you love everyday in such a nice place ,” commented Boehm about his first year in Invermere . “ Í really enjoyed being part of such a community involved organization .”
Both players are returning to their respective teams next season . Congratulations to Carson Albrecht and Dawson Boehm on a great 2016-17 Junior season .

Notice is hereby given that the assessment roll for the City of Martensville for the year 2017 has been prepared and is open to inspection in the office of the assessor from 9 a . m . to 5 p . m . on the following days : Monday to Friday , March 9-May 12 , 2017 .
A bylaw pursuant to section 184 of The Cities Act has been passed and the assessment notices have been sent as required .
Any person who wishes to appeal against his or her assessment or classification to the board of revision is required to file his or her notice of appeal with : The Assessor , City of Martensville , Box 970 , Martensville , Saskatchewan S0K 2T0 , by May 15 .
