Holy Mary Catholic School Martensville Lacie Munholland, Martensville Messenger The first Catholic school in Martensville – Holy Mary Catholic School is scheduled to open September 2017. This school is part of a public-private partnership that will see 18 schools across Saskatchewan open in nine joint-use facilities, including: one in Martensville and one in Warman, Kids entering kindergarten classes at the new Catholic schools in Martensville and Warman next fall will have more time to foster friendships in their own communities, rather than travelling to Saskatoon. There are enough students registered to start kindergarten September 2016, taking place at the Martensville Civic Centre and the Legends Centre in Warman. If you have already sent in your registration, your child’s spot is confirmed. Registration is still open. Moving forward, scheduling will be the focus: which days the program will operate – M o n d a y / We d n e s d a y / alternate Fridays, or Tuesday/Thursday/ alternate Fridays. Community feedback was reviewed and the Board of Education has endorsed French immersion programming for the region. Dual-track French immersion will be offered in the Martensville and Warman region (location still being determined). It is important to note that English will be offered in both schools. Any French immersion programming will be dual-track – both English and French offered. It has not been determined which grades will be offered in French immersion.
