Martensville Youth Makes a Difference For His Family With Juice Stand
Marcy Cross,
Martensville Messenger
An entire community
came together after a
social media post went
viral about a young
Martensville boy that
started up a juice stand in
order to help his family
out financially. Numerous
stories about ten-year
old Jayden were seen on
various media outlets
throughout the province,
and he had people coming
from as far as Prince Albert
to purchase a cup of juice.
This all began after a
chance encounter took
place at the local grocery
store between Jayden and
Martensville resident, Lise
LeBlanc. LeBlanc met the
young boy and had a short
conversation with him and
was thoroughly impressed
with Jayden’s incredible
story, so decided to post
about it on her Facebook
page. In her post, LeBlanc
mentioned how polite and
amazing Jayden was, and
how the young boy told
her about the lemonade
stand he had set up on
Main Street to help his
family out, as his dad had
been laid off recently, and
the family was currently
without power in their
home. Jayden invited
LeBlanc to come and
purchase a cup of juice;
however, she didn’t have
any change on her at the
time. Jayden then took
a loonie out of his own
pocket and handed it to
LeBlanc, telling her to
stop by later because he’d
love some company.
Once posting about her
experience, friends and
family began sharing the
story, and news quickly
spread. The original post
currently has over 3200
shares, and over 2700
likes. As people learned
about this incredible boy,
customers began flocking
to his juice stand, which
is located in front of
Heritage Manor on Main
Street in Martensville.
Jayden never expected
so many people to come
to his juice stand, or to
compliment him on what
he is doing for his family.
Friends, local residents
and businesses, and
people from out of town
came together to help
support his efforts.
Martensville
resident
Heather Hogg was a repeat
customer at Jayden’s juice
stand. “What an amazing
young boy we have in our
community. I stopped by
Main Street and as we were
waiting in line to get our
juice, I had tears streaming
down my face. Knowing that
there are these kind, caring,
thoughtful young people in
our city is so heartwarming,”
Hogg commented. During
her wait, she witnessed even
more kindness, as Vern’s
Pizza in Martensville stopped
by to bring the family fresh
pizza for supper, and she
saw people paying up to
$20 for a cup of juice. “We
live in the best community,
a community that comes
together when some of
our very own citizens are
suffering severe hardship,”
Hogg added.

and his juice stand helper, had
a variety of options available
for their thirsty customers.
Jayden’s father is a
mechanic, who lost his
job a few weeks ago.
The family is feeling
financial pressure due to
this and was staring down
a $1800 electrical bill,
and had been without
power for a while at
that point. Jayden raised
approximately
$1000
through the juice stand,
all of which will be going
towards the family’s bills.
