Venture Heights Students
Perform ‘Elf’ the Musical
Ciara O’Reilly, Martensville Messenger
There’s no better way to spread Christmas cheer
than singing loud for all to hear! - And that is exactly
what grades 5-8 of Venture Heights did as they executed
the musical performance of “Elf”. Performances of this
musical were due to take place on December 6th and 7th.
The students did an excellent job as they worked together
to create Christmas spirit of epic proportions across the
stage of Venture Heights Elementary school. Buddy the
Elf was portrayed accurately as the over-enthusiastic elf/
humanoid that didn’t quite belong in the North Pole or in
the streets of New York City. Buddy soon began to learn
that Santa was struggling to gain the Christmas Spirit
needed for his sleigh to fly. Buddy worked hard in order to
spread Christmas Cheer with his new human-family and
across the city of New York. Cheer was spread in song
and merriments, and it wasn’t long before Santa’s sleigh
hit the open air again. The amount of energy brought to
the stage was outstanding and extremely uplifting. The
gym of VHS was decorated sublimely with twinklelights, Christmas trees, and tinsel aplenty.
Students and teachers involved prepared for the last three months and some days were spent hours
on end working hard in order to be ready to put on a magical show, and they succeeded in just that.
Voices of the students worked well in unison and the audience of VHS were very pleased with the
performance as the gym was full of laughter and cheers. Fantastic job Venture Heights!

Students in 4J and 4V at Venture Heights Elementary
School took part in puppet making fun, with the help of several
parent volunteers. The students had all sorts of fun using their
imaginations to create their puppets. Thanks again to our parent
volunteers who came and helped out.
