Furry Four Legged Friends Seek a Loving Home for the Holidays

Paws Republic had some special visitors from Saskatoon Dog Rescue who were on their very best behaviour for the adoption event that took place December 17th from 1p . m-4p . m . The pups put their best paws forward in attempts to impress all of the potential adopting families . Dressed in their holiday best , the pups played and gave their love to everyone who came to visit them during this event . A variety of breeds of dogs ( big , small , and somewhere in the middle ) are available for adoption now . Included in the mix is a family of lab puppies like Marbles and Spanky along with their mother , a lab-shepherd cross , Nala . Fortunately through the adoption event that took place at Paws Republic , three pups found their forever home . Congratulations to pups Betty Sue , Hungry and Noelle .
The adoption process is one that takes place quicker than you could imagine . It is all done online and those hoping to adopt can visit saskatoondogrescue . com and fill out an application . From that point on families can expect to be contacted by the foster families of the pup so they can meet their newest family member . Families would then go through a home check , and if they are not from Martensville or surrounding areas they would need to send in pictures of their home and yard in order to be a suitable option . “ If all goes to plan , the process of adoption takes only 24-48 hours . The longest process took three weeks . In situations that arise such as this one we gather as board members to figure it out if we feel this family is a good match ,” Saskatoon Dog Rescue volunteer , Jennifer Hagel explained .
Puppies aren ’ t the only four-legged creatures seeking a home this holiday season ; Paws Republic is potentially housing a litter of fluffy , precious , and playful kittens . Abandoned with their mother and left on a grid road on the outskirts of Martensville , this furry family was left for dead in temperatures of -40 degrees celsius . Luckily a Martensville resident was curious enough to check out this cardboard box and called the SPCA . Unfortunately the SPCA was full at this time and given the situation , Paws Republic stepped in and will be housing the kittens until they can be adopted . The fluffy babies are just six weeks old , each
has an individual personality and all are looking for a place to call home . Please note that Paws Republic is not the sole care provider for strays . If you find a stray dog or cat , please contact the City of Martensville Bylaw Officer at ( 306 ) 229-6859 Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm or City Hall at ( 306 ) 931- 2166 . After 5:00 pm or on weekends please contact Paws Republic who will accept the animal on behalf of the City until the owner can be identified . Take into account that you are responsible for caring for the animal until arrangements are made for you to drop off the animal at Paws Republic . Paws Republic does not pick up animals .

They are always in need of support in order to continue providing care for and saving the lives of our furry four-legged friends .
