Martensville Dancers Prepare for Disneyland Parade
Marcy Cross, Martensville Messenger
Young dancers of Martensville have been given the opportunity to ‘Dance
the Magic’ as part of the holiday parade on the main street of Disneyland this
December.
“The group of dancers from Kristy's Dance Fusion out of Saskatoon
includes many dancers from Martensville. They practiced their Disney Parade Dance
to Mariah Carey's ‘All I Want for Christmas is You’ at the MAP on Saturday. The
dancers practiced the song continuously thirteen times which lasted thirty minutes
straight, equaling eight times around the track (1 mile). They will be performing
in the Disneyland Parade on December 10th,” Ryan Cross, the father of one of the
dancers, explained.
Getting that many kids to Disneyland is a huge undertaking and requires a lot of
fundraising. “We want to thank those who have supported any of our fundraising efforts in the
Martensville community,” Cross added.
As the days continue to countdown, Maddy Christianson, a Martensville dancer, is
getting more and more excited about the trip to Disneyland. “There are a bunch of kids from
Martensville going and we have been practicing about twice a week now. We have the routine
down and just have some fine tuning to do. We’re all really excited to go. I’m looking forward
to hanging out with my family and friends and going on some rides and a Hollywood tour,”
Christianson exclaimed. Georjeana Christianson, Maddy’s mom said, “Everything is about
Disney in our house these days!”
