Great Canadian Oil Change Opens
in martensville
Marcy Cross,
Martensville Messenger
Local residents can now
have their oil changed
with ease, as Friday,
August 19th marked the
opening day for the Great
Canadian Oil Change
location in Martensville.
Darrel Nelson, who also
owns the GCOC on Nelson
Road in Saskatoon, saw an
opportunity two years ago
to expand in Martensville.
“Bells went off when I
saw the land for sale out
here. I bought the land
and got started,” Nelson
explained.
The Martensville location
has one bay designated
for oil changes and a
second bay, which houses

a touchless car wash. The
equipment for the car wash
will be completed at the end
of September and Nelson
expects the car wash will
be open soon after.
GCOC will be open
Monday – Friday from
9:00am -7:00pm, Saturday
from 9:00am – 5:00pm
and closed on Sunday.
Nelson expects those hours
to change as he talks to
customers and finds out
what hours will work best
for his Martensville clients.
All appointments are first
come first serve and Darrel
is looking forward to
serving all of Martensville.
GCOC is located at 720
Centennial Drive North in
Martensville.
The Co-op grocery store
began construction next
to the Co-op gas station
on
Centennial
Drive
in Martensville late in
2015. A similar store
was opened in Warman
in August of 2014 and
was well received by the
community. The new food
store in Martensville will
be 5000 square feet larger
than the Warman store.
Harley
McClughan,
Operations
Manager
for Co-op said, “We
are excited to be in
Martensville. The building
is ahead of schedule
and we’re anticipating
it being open around
the first of November
2016. We are holding a
job fair on September
7th in the basement of
the Martensville Baptist
Church right across the
street from the new store,
from 1:30-6:30. We are
looking for people to
fill positions in the deli,
