The BigFish Finder
Conditions are almost perfect for great fall fishing
on the east side of the Mississippi River. The River is
below six feet and forecast to continue dropping. This
allows the salinity to increase in our marshes and for
speckled trout to follow.
Water temperatures are warm and slowly beginning to
cool. Fish instinctively know there is a need to fatten
up for a potentially long and lean winter.
Days are beginning to noticeably shorten. Shorter days
bring less feeding time, a lower angle of the sun to the
horizon, and a decrease in heat. All of that means they
have less daylight to feed, and moderate conditions
(less intense sunlight and heat) mean they often feed
for longer periods during the day.
Bait is everywhere. Bait is
nothing more than anything a fish eats. Find the
bait, and you will likely
find the fish. And this
month, bait should be
easy to find.
