I can dig it, RP.
I was talking w/ 1 of my old teammates yesterday. And, we both
agreed that growing up in Detroit was some powerful stuff. Partly
because we, teen-aged Detroiters, were among the 1st in the country
who saw Prince perform live and bought up all the albums. But,
here’s the cool part: We knew the sisters dug the hell out of the
lyrics. Most of the young bros. were just digging the guitar skills,
though. Especially if you couldn’t sing.
So, it was the young sisters in Detroit in the late ‘70s who turned US
out. Not the other way around. That’s some straight-up pimp shit.
And, Prince knew it.
