onder women cover... Spring is in the air Toni Woolf Toni Woolf - Designer Having always been into anything art and crafty, it wasn’t until college when I realised my passion for graphic design. After working for a number of years in design positions, I started creating more personalised projects such as invitations and wedding stationery as a side-line for friends and family. I soon found these works were giving me more freedom of creativity, so with a young baby and new-found me, I decided to make the leap and progress into starting up my own business from home, now Brutalful Creations (aptly re-named after my Roller Derby persona of Miss Brutalfly), where I could really let my creativity bloom. It’s been over 20 years now in the industry (wow, am I ‘that’ old!), I have an almost 12-year-old, and my passion for design and art sees me spending my days producing a wide range of visual creations for clientele extending from right here in Marlborough, throughout New Zealand and even overseas as far away as Kuwait. The business has expanded over the past two years after incorporating the talents of business and life partner, Fleur Ehrhorn, upcycler and re-lover of retro and pallet wood furniture, where we now also create wooden art works, personalised prints and home décor. Thank you... We would like to say a special thanks to all those who have supported the Magazine throughout the previous 10 years. Your support has been invaluable and appreciated beyond words could say. Here’s to more fulfilled years to come with the magazines’ old friends and new. We would also like to acknowledge the loyality of Xfoliate Beauty Salon, who have been with us since the very first issue! It was during 2012, after doing the odd little advert for the original this&that, that I was approached by Nadine Hickman, to jump on board with the design and layout side of the fast-growing magazine. Being involved with this&that and seeing it grow from the basic paper read, to a small 16-page flick- through, and now evolving into the new 48-page Marlborough Magazine, has been a fantastic journey of creation and expansion. Working alongside a small team of wonderful women has given me the opportunity to continue my passion, and continue my business, learning and growing with the magazine. Even after all this time, each and every month still manages to bring new, uplifting content which helps keep me inspired and passionate about my work. It is an honor to work with all who have been involved ‘behind the cover’ over the past 6+ years, a team of inspiring, extraordinary women, a true testament to the adage ‘You can always tell who the strong women are, they're the ones building one another up instead of tearing each other down.’ e to hat m Ti ve t ir... o d ha m e r nte a w n u Here’s to another 10+ years together of growth and prosperity for the Marlborough Magazine team! "It’s been important having the monthly exposure for my business and it’s a free magazine to readers that provides great advertising, community information and business success stories.
