Pamper Day Thursday 23 August What is Pamper Day? You may have read about it in the local newspapers, you may even have heard it on the radio but you’d be forgiven for not really knowing what it is. However there are hundreds of women in the Marlborough Community that can tell you exactly what Pamper Day is all about. They would tell you it is an amazing day, one to remember. The purpose of Pamper Day is to empower women in our community. What the day brings: The guests receive a pamper bag containing various goodies, and then treated to an inspirational story from a guest speaker. Next is the opportunity to have their hair styled, make-up done and nails painted by professionals. Then they can choose anything from cranial to hand massage by therapists, facial threading or nurses who can give advice on diabetes, smoking cessation and blood pressure amongst other things. There is a dedicated image stylist to help select outfits from a Pre- Loved Boutique. A delicious catered lunch is provided to enjoy whilst watching a fashion show for all ages, styles, sizes. Finally they are serenaded as the depart feeling incredible. All this is free and given with the hope that every woman leaves feeling as beautiful as she is. Community Services have joined together to organise this event as it is important that women in our community feel valued and supported. Services specifically invite women who are working with them. Local businesses such as hair salons, chemists, beauticians, massage therapists, a catering service, supermarkets, as well as students from NMIT and Community College are all taking part in the day to help these women feel pampered and cared for. Encouragement and kindness can help any women to feel valued. Other local businesses have donated products, gi fts, vouchers to go towards the pamper bags we give them. We are still taking donations so if anyone wishes to donate products please contact Paula Taylor on 021 030 6982.
