Fixtures were often compromised by rain and unavailability of opposition. The spirit in which the boys played the game should be commended as they always gave a hundred percent effort during practice as well as on match day and it was clearly evident in their faces that they enjoyed the game. Although we played Westville four times in the year, each game was competitive and the boys were never short of motivation to perform. I wish the boys well in their College and cricket journey and express special thanks to the parents who always lent their support from the sidelines. Regular players: It was a highly successful year for the U14H cricket team, winning four of their five games. The team was well led by R Vincent who led from the front with some wonderful knocks at the top of the order. Other notable batsmen included T van den Berg who played many destructive innings later down the order, and who also kept wicket extremely well for the entire season, and N Allen who opened the batting alongside Vincent. Allen gave the team a rock to play around with his cool head and solid defensive ability. Notable bowlers were Z Osman, who opened the bowling with a mixture of pace and control, N Nkalakata whose brutal pace was feared by all, and A Ebrahim who spun a web of deception around his opponents with some wonderful off-spin. It was also a successful season for the U14I team which had an unbeaten season. The team not only won each of their matches, but also won by substantial margins, dominating their opponents week after week with superior skill and performance.
