vs Afrikaanse Hoër Seunskool ( Affies ) ( Goldstone ’ s )
Affies won the toss and elected to bowl first . Typical of this year ’ s team , a number of College batsmen got off to a good start and then failed to capitalise , throwing their wickets away with unnecessary shots . The standout batsman for College was the skipper , Pillay , who managed a respectable 56 before being caught . Affies batting was too strong on the day and they cruised to victory having lost only two wickets .
College 191 / 10 ( Pillay 56 )
Affies 193 / 2 Affies won by 8 wickets vs Kearsney College ( away )
College won the toss and elected to bowl . This was another somewhat disappointing result for College . Kearsney managed a respectable 229 all out on a track that offered quite a bit to the bowlers . The effort in the field was marred by a number of drop catches and missed run out opportunities . The pick of the bowlers was Walden with figures of 3 / 25 in 6 overs . College never really got going with a number of batsmen getting starts and then throwing their wickets away . Some resistance came from a partnership of 73 from Dicks and Steenkamp , but it was not enough to grab College the victory . Kearsney won by 28 runs , leaving College to rue the missed chances .

College 201 / 8 ( Walden 39 , Dicks 35 , Steenkamp 49 ) College lost by 28 runs vs St Andrew ’ s College ( Goldstone ’ s )
The toss was won by the opposition who elected to bat first . College bowled and fielded well , restricting St Andrew ’ s to a reachable total of 209 / 9 . Horan and Crampton were the pick of the bowlers and they were well supported by a committed fielding outfit . The College innings got off to a great start with Muirhead proving his worth once again with a valuable 46 . Pillay and Dicks batted superbly for a game-winning partnership of 111 . They both reached their half-centuries . Pillay ’ s contribution of 59 was his second half-century in as many games , once again showing his class . He was well-supported by the level-headed Dicks who was unbeaten on 68 , proving once again that he is one of the most difficult schoolboy batsmen in the province to dismiss . College made 212 for the loss of 4 wickets , showing just how devastating the team can be when they are on song .

vs Pretoria Boys High School ( Goldstone ’ s )
PBHS won the toss and elected to bowl first . After losing Muirhead early , Walden and Pillay combined for a partnership of 88 until Walden lost his wicket for a well-played 57 . Pillay carried the rest of the innings with wickets falling around him at regular intervals . He eventually departed for a superb 88 , against a disciplined bowling attack . College were bowled out for 226 . Unfortunately , another mediocre effort in the field meant that PBHS reached the College total with 7 wickets down , grabbing a 3-wicket win . There was a brief flicker of defiance from College towards the back end of the PBHS innings with the introduction of Sherwood , but the effort was to no avail .
College 226 / 10 ( Walden 57 , Pillay 88 )
PBHS 230 / 7 ( Sherwood 2 / 39 ) College lost by 3 wickets
vs Hudson Park ( Goldstone ’ s )
College won the toss and elected to bat first . This was perhaps one of the more disappointing losses of the season , against an opposition we should have dominated . The Hudson Park boys played with guts and determination and were worthy winners . College only managed 216 / 9 with , once again , many batsmen carelessly throwing their wickets away . The pick of the batsmen was Steenkamp who went to a well-played 49 . Two wickets apiece for Walden and Horan hampered the Hudson Park innings somewhat , but in the end the boys from East London emerged the victors after showing more fire than College . It was a disappointing end to the tournament for the College boys .
