Mount Shasta

I spent several years trying to find an ideal location to photograph snowcapped Mount Shasta from the north.  Most of the area near the mountain is very rugged, wooded and difficult to access.  There are only a few logging roads, but they are poorly maintained.  What is special about this image is that I was able to use a brilliant sunset to create the “alpenglow” lighting on the mountain.  In the photo, the mountain appears to be eliminated by the Milky Way.
