Jasson Minadakis walks us through his journey to become the Artistic Director of
the Marin Theatre Company and the exciting new America voices coming to Marin,
beginning with Thomas and Sally, by Thomas Bradshaw. Opening night is already
sold out.
Then, there is the Mill Valley Film Festival, celebrating their 40 th year, with the best
of new films and celebrity guests. We feature Third Mind Blues, with Roy Rogers
who lived in Marin for many years and formed a musical partnership with the late
Ray Manzarek, the keyboard player from the Doors. Hear Rogers at Sweetwater on
October 12 th .
Alastair Neale, conductor of the Marin Symphony, and a true treasure, gives voice
to the wonderful new season kicking off on October 29 th along with introducing
us to the Symphony’s new choral director, Kevin Fox, who we will interview for our
December/January issue, so stay tuned.

Like Big Band? Put on your dancing shoes and come out to hear and swing dance to
the Starduster Orchestra. Every third Tuesday and the Mill Valley Community Center.
We love the nonprofits in Marin that inspire kids. Especially kids who would
otherwise not have access to the music, theater, arts. We are keen on giving them
the opportunity to take part in whatever art form speaks to them.
Bruce Burtch writes about Drawbridge, a nonprofit that sponsors free art programs
for homeless kids.
The Cole Porter Society’s youth outreach programs to is to build confidence, expose
students to the history and high culture of musical theater and to inspire them to
dream funds scholarships to kids who have often never seen a live performance.
This year, they perform Cole Porter Salutes Motown at the Showcase Theater on
November 5 th .
We encourage developing talent. Cole Hersey, a recent Bennington graduate writes
about growing up in Pt. Reyes.
We love people, who despite the difficulties of the responsibilities of life, find that
they must create art. Sometimes full time, often after hours. I feature one of those
artists in the link below.
