Junior Vice Captains Report
Port Shepstone Club
11th June 2017
Whilst in the heart of our tropical “short-sleeve-
winter” Port Shepstone Country Club was in
sublime condition again. The breathless
conditions added to great golf and more silver
trays.
Many thanks to the friendly Sheppy staff that
served us and made it another special event.
A friendly nomadic welcome to our new inductee
Dillan Drew (now Vince has finally got his own
driver).
Congratulations and well done to Ian Firth with
his 5-year tie, Linda Hall with her 10-year badge
and young Dave Chaplin with his 40-year-tie,
acknowledgment of your unwavering
commitment gents and lady!.
Thanks to our day sponsor Halfway Ford Port
Shepstone who turned up properly and raised
the bar way up!! Thanks for all the wet holes
and many lovely prizes!
Thanks to our JVC and PRO for setting up the
altar so professionally and organizing the
prizes. Thanks to Allison and her team for all
their efforts to ensure a smooth and efficient
prizegiving in under an hour.
The AMF committee has been busy and lots of
progress was made in the planning and
promotion of this year's main Andrew Mentis
Fundraising event. The entry forms for the
event that takes place on Sunday 24 September
2017 at Port Shepstone Country Club have been
printed and distributed at prizegiving.
Information of the event and entry forms have
been posted on our website and distributed to
all other Nomad Clubs. Posters to advertise the
event are being distributed to be displayed at all
our local golf clubs
We are planning an awesome event with lots
and lots of prizes, lots of wet holes on the day,
complimentary “potjiekos” at halfway and a
traditional braai after the game, live music and
lots more entertainment.
The AMF fundraising committee has already
commenced with approaching sponsors for the
day and welcome all who want to contribute to
what will certainly be an awesome event.
We currently have 18 cases of Castle Lite in
stock (3 months' supply) after this month's
match. We have collected our second quarterly
assignment of beer from SAB for 2017.
Thank you for your positive attitude and
willingness to assist me when called to do so!
See you at the Wild Coast next month!
Job well done to Ian Stewart our fines master,
Jimmy for assisting with the whiskey, glasses
and balls, our photographer Norms and our
professional slide show presenter Howie (for
pulling a rabbit out of a hat, every time).
Well done to all Nomads who take pride in our
organization and put in the effort to promote
our worthy cause. The new vibe is spreading!
Regards
Roelof Meyer
