NEW BRAND: MYWOODI
A new brand of wooden eyewear debuted at
Opti. Color called MyWoodi. With MyWoodi,
entrepreneurs Klaus Tavella, Thomas Oberegger and Alexander Fischnaller, intend to
revolutionize the market for wooden eyewear,
making it accessible to everyone. Manufactured in Italy, using wood from around the
world, this eye-wear features a clean, ultramodern, linear style that is ultra-modern.
There are 12 styles featured in the first
collection, (five sun wear and seven vision
wear) which are available in six different
types of woods and colours. Composed of
eight layers of wood, their exciting chromatic
nuances are fresh and fashionable. Sixty
processing phases, 15 of which are carried
out by hand, yield a feather-light product
that weighs in at 13 grams (less than half an
ounce). An invisible side hinge completes
the whole. www.mywoodi.com
GLASSES
WITH AN EDGE
With five primary shapes as the
starting point, theo set to work.
They tried slicing glasses in half
horizontally, and shifting the
upper part a little and the Shuffle
collection was born. Glasses with
a bit of an edge, or perhaps an
extra edge.
The clever design is not limited
to the front of the frames. The
earpiece with ends in a round tip
that's sliced in two and overlapped.
The glasses are playful, light and
colourful, according to your taste.
