CIVIL ENGINEERING STEEL CONSTRUCTION CERTIFICATION SCHEME
The scheme's assessors are carefully selected to ensure that their experience is relevant to
the product and process, such as design, preparation, fabrication, welding, painting and erection as well as environmental and health and
safety issues. The assessors, who understand
client needs, are specially trained on a continuous basis and all come from a background within the industry.
Recently, the industry’s best and brightest
were celebrated at the 47th Structural Steel
Design Awards. The BCSA, of which the SCCS
is a wholly owned subsidiary, is a national
organisation for the steel construction industry and sponsors the awards each year.
The glittering ceremony recognises the
high standards of structural and architectural design attainable in the use of steel
and its potential in terms of efficiency, cost
effectiveness, aesthetics and innovation.
They are open to steel based structures situated in the United Kingdom or overseas
that have been built by UK or Irish steelwork contractors using steel predominantly
sourced from Tata Steel.
The BCSA’s member companies undertake
the design, fabrication and erection of steelwork for all forms of construction in building
