“I love manufacturing,” says Watson Furniture Group CEO Clif McKenzie.
“I love building.” The company’s products are in Google’s offices, Boeing’s
airplanes and 911 emergency call centers. With 225 employees, the company
is growing ― they plan to enlarge their production facility by a third in 2019.
Clif McKenzie is proud to be a rural manufacturer, with 225 employees in a
wooded corner of Poulsbo that he calls “The Orchard.” He believes in training
his employees and rewarding them for their ideas to improve the company’s
operations. He calls his workforce “diverse, capable and competent,” and says,
“we give them the chance to work with their hands and do something beautiful.”
