Celebrating
Manufacturing
AWB hits the road to tell the dynamic story of manufacturing in Washington.
Manufacturing is a pillar of Washington’s economy,
supporting jobs and enriching communities in every corner
of the Evergreen State. Washington manufacturers provide
good jobs that support Washington families. Manufacturing
in this state supported more than 282,000 jobs with an
average annual wage of more than $72,000 in 2017.
To help tell the vibrant and important story of Washington’s
modern manufacturing economy, AWB set out on Oct. 4
for a seven-day bus trip called Manufacturing Week. Timed
to coincide with national Manufacturing Day on Oct. 5, the
bus tour took us from the Olympic Peninsula to the Tri-
Cities, from Seattle to Spokane, from Vancouver to the tiny
northeast Washington town of Valley.
This book captures some of the images and stories from that
memorable week.
