Working Waterfront
Seattle
AWB joined the Port of Seattle and other maritime
industry leaders for a boat tour of Seattle’s working
waterfront. From Fishermen’s Terminal ― home of
Alaska’s fishing fleet ― the group went to America’s
busiest locks in Ballard, down the Fremont Canal to
Lake Union.
Fishermen’s Terminal, founded in 1911, is home
port for 500 vessels in the North Pacific fishing
fleet. A variety of maritime industries are based
in the waterways of Seattle, supporting 16,000
jobs.
