On national Manufacturing Day, teams from AWB fanned out to
visit a number of shop floors while the big Manufacturing Week bus
marked day two of its seven-day tour.

The PACCAR
Technical Center,
established in 1982,
employs about 500
people, including more
than 325 engineers and
technicians, who test
the company’s semi
tractors.
Alcoa is a global
leader in aluminum,
bauxite and other
products. The
company’s Ferndale
location, Intalco
Works, has been
in operation since
1966. The plant’s
average wage is about $75,000 a year, with a salary that can
surpass $100,000 per year with overtime

This unique
nonprofit
produces

components
for the
aerospace
industry. It
also offers
extensive job
training to
people with
disabilities.
