Mansfield ISD Voters Approve Bond M ansfield ISD voters overwhelmingly approved a $275 million bond proposal on May 6, 2017. Over 65% of the more than 7,700 MISD voters casting ballots voted in favor of the bond proposition.With projections showing MISD adding 3,000 students in the next five years, more than half of the proposal addresses student growth, including a new elementary, a new intermediate and a new middle school. The remainder of the proposal addresses student safety and security, student equity, infrastructure improvements, and the overall student experience in MISD. Improvements include items such as: ◊ Renovations for equity, safety and updated standards at various campuses including Mansfield HS, Summit HS, Howard MS, Worley MS, Cross Timbers IS, and The Phoenix Academy ◊ Science labs at all elementary schools by converting existing space ◊ New playground equipment, shade structures and synthetic play-surface at all elementary and intermediate schools ◊ Enhancing video surveillance at every campus ◊ Technology infrastructure upgrades to cabling and backup systems ◊ HVAC upgrades and replacements “This bond package was carefully designed by our Facilities and Growth Planning Committee over seven months with one thing in mind -- what is in the best interest of Mansfield ISD?” said MISD Superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas.  “The support of the community tells us that they also believe it the right thing for our students and that they trust us to move forward, and that means everything to us.” To view a complete list of what is included in the bond package and to learn more about what is included for each campus, visit Mansfield School & Family 9 9
