Boren Elementary School, and Natalie Driver, educational technology trainer, were presented with the award after being nominated by other MISD staff members. The Heartbeat Award recognizes employees who display heart in their lives and inspire other district employees through their actions. The award, according to Superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas, is second only to getting a school named after an employee. Kriewall was nominated for her enthusiasm of music and her love of students. “Eryn is truly an example of someone who puts students first,” said Tracy Johnson, principal of Boren Elementary. “She’s always here to help whenever there’s a need.
