Honoring Mansfield ISD’s All-Stars J anuary is School Board Recognition Month—a time to focus on the crucial role these locally elected public school advocates play in our communities and schools. The Mansfield ISD Board of Trustees set the vision and policy for the district while overseeing a multi-million dollar annual budget for more than 34,000 students, approximately 4,000 employees and 43 schools. MISD school board members are true all-stars who receive no pay, but spend countless hours attending meetings, listening to concerns and being true public servants to ensure that students are receiving the best education possible. “One of the district’s core values is to put students first in our decisions, and the MISD community is blessed to have a school board who truly believes that and puts it into practice,” said Superintendent Dr. Jim Vaszauskas. “The members of the MISD school board have a passion for children and work to provide them quality educational opportunities in a fiscally responsible manner. On behalf of the district, I want to send a heartfelt ‘thank you’ to the dedicated volunteers who serve on our school board.” MISD appreciates the time, energy and counsel given by the men and women who serve on the school board. Please join us in showing gratitude and support for them during the month of January. Thank You, All-Stars!
