I Mansfield ISD Unveils the Power of Choice n Mansfield ISD, parents and students have the opportunity to choose the educational pathway that is the best fit for them. The Power of Choice allows students of all ages to take advantage of specific programs that are tailored to their needs—even if it is located outside of their designated attendance zone. MISD’s Schools of Choice offer options in the 2017-18 school year such as two-way dual language; leadership academies; a science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) academy; early college high school and more. Discover the possibilities by reviewing the choices below. TWO-WAY TWO-WAY DUAL DUAL LANGUAGE LANGUAGE Available locations: D.P. Morris Elementary School and Erma Nash Elementary School Grade level(s): Kindergarten (also first grade at Nash Elementary) MISD’s two-way dual language programs will allow Spanish and English native speakers the opportunity to learn two languages through cooperative learning and collaboration. The programs will also allow students to be college and career ready by becoming bilingual, bi-literate and multicultural. 8 Mansfield School & Family LEADERSHIP ACADEMIES ACADEMIES LEADERSHIP Available locations: Martha Reid Elementary School and Tarver-Rendon Elementary School Grade levels: Grades K-4 The Martha Reid Leadership Academy will challenge students to take ownership of their own learning and become leaders of today and future leaders of tomorrow. This school will develop students to lead locally, nationally and globally and to empower students to become productive citizens.
