DUBAI CREEK TOWER

Plans have been announced on Dubai’s newest tower, set to surpass the Burj Khalifa which currently stands as the world’s tallest building.

The height of the Dubai Creek Tower is yet to be announced by Emaar properties. The Burj Khalifa stands as 828, (2,717ft).

The £710m project is arranged to be completed by 2020, just in time for the Dubai Expo trade fair. Residential units, a rooftop courtyard, observation decks, the highest elevated garden restaurants and hotels will be included in the building. The observation deck will have rotating balconies available, providing a 360° view of the Creek Harbour.

At the foot of Dubai Creek Tower, sits the Dubai Creek Tower Plaza. A clock-shaped haven of landscaping, palm trees and water features spreading across 800 square metres – the width Central Park.

Additionally, Dubai Square will be equivalent to the size of more than 100 football pitches. The mall is determined to reinvent the definition of shopping and how we do it. Complete with a futuristic amphitheatre, art district, Luxury Avenue, Water park, Ice Adventure, VR Park, and other forms of entertainment for all ages.

Dubai Creek Tower is designed by Spanish-Swiss neo-futuristic architect Santiago Calatrava Valls, who was inspired by the natural form of the Lily flower and traditional Arabian minarets. The tower will be immersed by a matrix of cables encompassing LED lights.

But will the Jeddah Tower being built in Saudi Arabia, overtake the Dubai Creek Tower in the race to become the world’s tallest building with the planned height of 3,281 feet?

In the race for bragging rights – the sky is the limit.
