Our Head of Built Environment Paul Sainsbury fills us in on his mental health learning course experience whilst discussing how the last few months have been managing his team and what we should look forward to in the coming months. Please read below to see what Paul has said:

“I found my most recent mental health session very interesting. I think it’s a subject that needs to come into the mainstream and not be seen as a taboo subject. I am glad the business has taken the decision to implement well-being as a key driver within the business aside from day to day activities. I think the fact it has been implemented by the senior management team will mean that the subject isn’t just seen as popular for now and will be kept throughout the businesses growth. I am glad we are ahead of the curve and that Emma and I have done this before it becomes a legal requirement.

Moving on from this, I am really enjoying my role and responsibility of running the Built Environment team, although challenging I am learning new things every week and I am relishing the challenge of pushing to achieve budget and laying the foundations of a successful division for years to come.

We are currently on the cusp of a few large jobs which we are extremely excited for. However when looking at current projects, my team have been working extremely hard over the last few months. To highlight one achievement would be that my team was recently awarded a contract for a large shut down on an oil refinery in Grimsby. Not only this, but we also recruiting for a large FMCG development in Scotland. Moving outside of the UK, we are recruiting for a large number of structural staff for a major science park in Scandinavia and for an oil refinery project in the Benelux region.

As my Built Environment team continues to grow, we will continue to work within the European markets and aim to continue our growth within major civil engineering projects in the UK. Besides this, we are also looking to move into the office / commercial fit out market. We’re always looking for new challenges and will continue to do our best to supply our clients with the best possible candidates”
