NEW SPURS STADIUM GOES TO EXTRA TIME

continued from page 8

American Football - Tottenham, drawn at home to Watford in the cup were left looking for a stadium to use as their home ground. Watford suggested to use their ground so to not compromise the integrity of the competition.

Tottenham Hotspurs ultimately would take the team and their fans for one night to Milton Keynes where the Stadium MK, home of League 2 side Milton Keynes Dons, would play home ground to Spurs as they beat Watford, a side who had a marginally shorter journey from Hertfordshire to Milton Keynes than the ‘home team’ did.

The subject of where Tottenham would play their games when discovering the stadium would not be complete became a talking point and a subject of jokes amongst rival fans and national media. This also led to journalists mocking the North London club for having played in more home grounds in one season than they had won club honours in the previous 10 years.

Recent updates and images from White Hart Lane have shown that the ground is nearly complete with seats having been installed (some uninstalled and then reinstalled due to their materials), the movable pitch being fitted and the grass been laid.

Having seen how near to finalization the ground is, Spurs fans will be hoping the stadium is on the home-straight and they’ll be able to use their new season-tickets before too long. A move in date before Christmas would be the ultimate present for fan. Failing that, it might be the new ground in the New Year.

Tottenham Hotspur's new stadium. Coming soon.
