What did you do before joining Mane?
Prior to joining Mane I was an Estate Agent for two years – I worked in Lettings,
spending a year each at two different companies after finishing my A-Levels
at sixth form.
Do you have any hobbies / interests outside of work?
Outside of work I like to keep up with fitness – I have a personal trainer that I train with weekly. Other than that, I enjoy spending time with friends over coffee or a glass of wine.
When did you join Mane Contract Services?
I joined Mane in November 2018.
How would you describe your time in the academy?
My time in the academy was very enjoyable! There was a lot of information to take in, which was beneficial as I haven’t worked in Recruitment before. There was a lot taught, and a lot learned – it helps to be in a group of people who are all in a similar situation so you can help each other out if needs be. It also helps that Chris Young is very patient and is always there to help you when you need it.
Is there anything from your previous job you felt helped with your current job?
My telephone manner was something I took from my previous roles into this one. I was used to communicating with applicants over the phone and getting specific pieces of information out of people. Other than that, confidence too. It’s okay to not know the ins and outs of what you’re talking about all the time – you’re going to learn. In the meantime, say it with conviction and take every bit of information away that you can for personal development.
What team did you join after the Academy and what are your thoughts on the team?
I joined Product & Technology. I love the team! We get the work done and enjoy doing it. They are supportive of one another and help out when and where they can – I ask a lot of questions so that is helpful.
What section / roles do you specialise in?
I specialise in Product recruitment. I recruit across Product Managers, Product Owners, Product Analysts, Product Marketing and VP’s of Product. There are several interlinking roles too which lead into Software & Data.
What do you hope to achieve within your team in the next year?
I aim to create a reputation within product to the point where hiring managers come to me.
