Mui: The smart plank of wood

The internet-connected wood block is expected to cost around £785. It fits perfectly onto a wall, is touch sensitive and comes with a LED display which can perform a range of functions. The plank can play and pause music from smart speakers, turn the lights off and on, control room temperature and display the time. The Mui display comes with a Google Assistant, however you can choose to have the AI’s responses displayed as text instead of audio.

Royole FlexPai Phone

The phone features a bendable 7.8inch AMOLED screen that’s made up of flexible plastic and has a 1440p resolution. The Flexpai runs on an OS called Water and it’s layered on top of Google Android 9.0. Whatever way you choose to hold, bend or clothes the phone, the screen adjusts to the many different orientations and viewing options. The FlexPai costs around £1,200 for the 6GB of RAM/128GB variant, costing over £200 more than the newest IPhone.

Lumen – Nutritionist in your pocket and metabolism tracker

Lumen, a digital health company released their first product in the form of a pocket-sized breathalyser which links to your IPhone. The aim of it is to measure your metabolism. The app delivers personalized workouts and meal plans to help you drop pounds in a sustainable way. Lumen aims to track how fast your metabolism is working by measuring the amount of CO2 and gases you exhale and uses an AI engine to tell if you’re burning fat. It comes at a price of around £235 and will go on sale this summer.

Hyundai Walking Car

Hyundai unveiled a concept called Elevate which is an electric car with robotics legs that can be extended to drive and be used for walking. The concept is designed to help emergency workers travel across harsh terrain in the event of a natural disaster. Hyundai want this vehicle to be faster and more efficient than current off road vehicles. Hyundai have been working on the concept for just over three years so it will be interesting to see what it’s like on completion.
