Consumer Electronics Show 2019

CES is the world’s gathering place for all those who thrive on new technologies. It has been taking place for over 50 years – it is the global stage where next-generation innovations are introduced to the marketplace. We take a look at a few of the newest innovations here:

LG Rollable TV – 65 Inch

The LG signature OLED TV R (65R9) starts as an aluminium box with display hidden – called Zero View. With the push of a button, an amazing 4K TV emerges. There are different modes which you can set the TV on. Line View raises the TV up to about a ¼ of its height, and in this mode you can listen to music, look at photos and enjoy fun animations. The OLED TV R also packs a 100-watt sound system in its base. If you want a TV which will turn heads, this is definitely the go-to option in the market at the moment.

Samsung 98 inch QLED 8K TV

Only a few months on from their debut 85 inch 8K OLED TV Samsung unveiled a brand-new 8K Q900 QLED set, measuring a huge 98 inches. With four times more resolution than 4K TV’s they do not come cheap, the price has not yet been announced but as the 85 inch is around £15,000, the 95 inch will be considerable more. With the screen being 98 inches it puts it firmly in the project screen-size territory.

The FoldiMate

Meet FoldiMate, the tool that’s designed to fold your clothes for you. It’s a robot with the ability to fold your clothes perfectly each time. It has the capability to fold a full load of laundry made up of around 25 items in less than 5 minutes, all while automatically adjusting to each item type and size. FoldiMate just demoed their most recent prototype, even though it is not on the market yet, I know many people will be anticipating the launch of this project, with a hope of it happening sometime this year.
