This position involves a regular commute from his home near York , Pa ., to Elgin , Ill .
Diane Herndon ’ 71 Routt retired at the end of the 2015-2016 school year from Carroll Elementary School in Flora , Ind . During her 45 years at Carroll , she taught third and fourth grade .
Jim Davis ’ 75 was inducted into the Indiana High School Football Coaches Hall of Fame on Aug . 26 , 2016 . Jim has coached for 40 years , 39 of them at North White High School in Monon , Ind .
Donal Carbaugh ’ 77 was named one of this year ’ s National Communication Association Distinguished Scholars inductees . The award is intended to reward NCA members for their achievement in the study of human communication .
Dr . David Whitcomb ’ 78 received the Henry Lynch Award by the International Symposium on Inherited Diseases of the Pancreas for discovering a hereditary pancreatitis gene . He is chief of gastroenterology , hepatology and nutrition at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine .
1980s Garry Hamilton ’ 85 , head of the Community Relations Division of the Fort Wayne Police Department , received the Liberty Award from the Allen County Bar Association . It is the highest award the association gives to non-attorneys .
Gavin Meek ’ 85 of Irvington , N . Y ., is the general presbyter of Hudson River Presbytery . He is responsible for 81 congregations in the Presbyterian Church in eight counties north of New York City .
Rachel Bales-Case ’ 86 works as director of the Lighthouse Ministry Daycare in Ligonier , Ind . The daycare works to help low-income families and those seeking higher education by providing child care .
1990s Daniel Sullivan ’ 91x recently stepped down as the boys soccer coach at Elkhart Memorial High School to become an assistant coach at Goshen College . He continues to serve as director of coaching for the Elkhart Flames soccer club and Elkhart County United .
Hong “ Lily ” Qi ’ 91 has been appointed to the board of BioHealth Innovation Inc . She currently serves as an assistant chief administrative officer for economic and workforce development at the Office of the County Executive for Montgomery County , Md .
Linda Williamson ’ 93 Kroll joined Manchester University ’ s Board of Trustees in August . The South Bend , Ind ., resident is associate vice president for finance at the University of Notre Dame .
Mike Filbrun ’ 95 was named girls Coach of the Year by the Indiana High School Tennis Coaches Association . Filbrun , who coaches at Fairfield High School near Goshen , Ind ., has won 565 matches and 20 sectional titles and made two state finals appearances as girls and boys tennis coach for the past 20 years .
Krista Wellman ’ 95 Horn and William Horn of Syracuse , Ind ., have welcomed a baby boy to their family , joining three older siblings . Krista works as a sales associate for Richloom Fabrics Group .
Julie Davidson ’ 98 Greer serves as the director of recreation and outdoor education at Sheridan College in Wyoming . In April , she became a board member for the Wyoming State Parks and Cultural Resources Commission .
Isabel Porrata-Doria ’ 98 Santner has been elected partner of BKD in Bloomington , Ind . She also serves on the advisory committee for the BKD Foundation , is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Indiana CPA Society , serves as a member of the board of directors for the Boys and Girls Club of Bloomington , and formerly co-chaired the Financial Services Committee for the Indianapolis Super Bowl Host Committee .

Benjamin Barkey ’ 01 received the 2016 Teacher of the Year award for his contributions to Washington STEM Academy and Warsaw ( Ind .) Community Schools . Barkey has served as the academy ’ s STEM coach for 3½ years and previously taught science and mathematics at Edgewood Middle School for nine years .
