cannot afford to have political theatrics being transferred to courts .
There was good reason for the law maxim that states that justice not only needs to be done but that it is seen to be done . The converse is also true that if you are seeking justice you need to seem just , those that seek justice must come with clean hands .
When you brand a government illegitimate that has been installed through a properly constituted court process then what you are challenging is not the government but the authority of the court that saw it fit to swear in the incumbent .
But where the tyranny of brains comes into play is when you then go the same courts that you undermine to plead unconstitutional behavior on the part of the government when you feel your rights have been trampled upon .
The courts cannot be a refuge when it suits one and then proceed to engage in unconstitutional behavior in the guise of freedom of expression . We are becoming famous for all the wrong reasons in the region let alone internationally .
One day we are being lauded by the world for demonstrating that we are capable of upholding democratic ideals and have respect for the rule of law and the next day we are being vilified for not respecting the law and bandit government behavior .
As a sovereign state in need of attracting and maintaining good relations with our neighbors and the world for investments reasons it appears strange that potential investors cannot make up their minds if we are a stable economy or a risky one .
Political tension which is then amplified by our free press in search of sensational news has managed to paint a picture of a Kenya in turmoil and as stated in an earlier publication if you were to read about Kenya in the press then we have no country .
If only we could use our boundless energy and obvious creativity to spur development rather than engaging in pointless machinations that neither move anybody forward but creates an unfriendly business environment that hurts everyone .
Kenya is the only country in the region that seems to be perpetually on a campaign mode and already we are quarreling and threatening on the 2022 elections and grand posturing yet we have not even settled the issues of the last election .
Elections must stop being the main business of Kenyans and the way to do it is to find a way of reducing the government in our lives . The biggest disservice that the new constitution did to Kenyans was to add several layers of idle venom laced mouth shooting politicians funded by our taxes .
To our way of thinking it is the politician that we would like to find out what value they add to a Kenyan ’ s life because they surely are not representing the wishes of Kenyans who have demonstrated time and time again that they crave peace and progress .
It is strange that we are a tribal nation every five years during elections and manage to coexist and work together without strive in between . If we were tribal then we would have slaughtered each other on a daily basis and lived in our tribal enclaves .
We would like to posit that perhaps what Kenyans need is a ‘ Tyranny Of Common Sense ’ so we can rid ourselves of the suicidal stranglehold that the politicians have on our lives . A politician has only one interest and it is self-interest – period ! To them Kenya can be damned for all they care .
