Single Parenting – Super
Moms!

W
e live in very complicated
times and the pressures and
the changing climate of life,
forces families to morph from the usual
Nuclear to now single, blended extended
families. In this issue we shall be looking
at specifically Single mums raising boys. and responsible men of society. This is
a herculean task and isn’t for the faint
hearted. They have to learn everything
from shooting games, to soccer, to rigorous
games that only boys can play. These are
the moms that really face the Beast of
single parenting.
I salute the mothers who are sticking
it out to raise their children on a single
salary and ensuring that the kids are
provided for and are lacking in nothing.
These Moms are amazing and I know of
so many, they have my absolute respect.
Then there is the Super Cluster of moms
that are raising Boys! These are the ones I
call Super Moms! How do they do it? How do they make
it happen? We shall be looking at some
of the areas and bases that they need to
ensure they cover to maximize on their
parenting journey.
They have to play an array of roles in
ensuring that the boys they gave birth
to, turn out right and become respectable
Accept your son as he is
Each young man comes to this world with
a very unique set of abilities and talents
different from any other child. We have
to take the time to understand our young
princes. Who are they? What abilities do
One of the most important things that you can
ever do for your prince is making him acquaint-
ed with God. This settles his moral and spiritu-
al compass early in life and will save you loads
and loads of heart ache in the future. A man that
appreciates and honors God is a man who can
be depended upon. The earlier this is done the
better and easier for both you and your prince.

they possess? What personality does he
possess? All this helps in you having a
holistic understanding of the young male
species you are raising. It’s in this basic
understanding of who they are that we
can harness all our energies in deliberately
and intentionally raising these princes
that God has blessed us with.
Teach him about God.
One of the most important things that
you can ever do for your prince is making
him acquainted with God. This settles his
moral and spiritual compass early in life
and will save you loads and loads of heart
ache in the future. A man that appreciates
and honors God is a man who can be
depended upon. The earlier this is done
the better and easier for both you and your
prince.
He is NOT his father
Sure when you look at him you will see
some elements of the father. Never let this
cloud your love for the young prince. He
is his father’s son and irrespective of what
happened, he is also your son and you
owe it to the young prince to respect and
honor him as an individual without letting
emotions of what happened between you
and his father come between you two.
Never allow emotions to override the
love you need to have for your prince. The
situation might have not been perfect but
