Did you schedule too much? Did you fall back to old, unproductive habits? Frankly assess what happened and why. Forgive yourself, learn, refocus and decide what you will do differently. Finally, pick yourself up and move forward with the commitment to do better in future. Each of us has the seed of greatness. It takes grit and discipline to accomplish anything significant. Through criticism by our parents, authority figures, significant others, and ourselves, we get paralyzed and subconsciously convince ourselves that we do not deserve to succeed. As a result we hold back, performing below our ability, getting mediocre results and seeing this as the proof that we’re right – we really don’t deserve to succeed. If you want to be really successful, love yourself, let go of your past, set clear goals and practice self-discipline to achieve them. There are no short cuts. As one time US president, Calvin Coolidge, put it: Nothing in this world can take the place of persistence. Talent will not; nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent. Genius will not; unrewarded genius is almost a proverb. Education will not; the world is full of educated derelicts. Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent. Decide to develop discipline today. Just start - one step in the right direction is better than none. This will then become two steps, then three and four and each subsequent step will lead you closer towards a better version of yourself. Within just 90 days you will have made significant progress.Don’t wait. Don’t do it tomorrow. Start today and go for it. Every day, regardless of how you feel. You won’t regret it.
