Do things differently this year . Stay the course without making or believing any excuses that give you permission to live and perform below par . Become a star performer – avoid the easy way out and choose to do the hard things even when you don ’ t feel like it .
According to inventor Thomas Edison , the three essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are hard work , stick-to-itive-ness and common sense . There comes a time when you have to take yourself by the scruff of the neck and get on with it . No ands , buts or ifs .
You need to push yourself hard as you start – great effort is needed to get a flywheel to start turning and gain momentum . Once it ’ s in motion , however , it is easy to turn .
It ’ s easy to stay in the familiar comfort of life as usual . Only the brave are bold enough to say , “ Enough ” and move in a completely new direction . Be one of the brave and go for your goals . Like a champion athlete training hard for the Olympics , going for gold is uncomfortable and inconvenient , but he keeps at it with his eye on the prize , ignoring hardship , tired muscles , and inconvenience to attain victory .
Let your goals inspire and motivate you . All things are possible to them that believe – and act . The alternative is to do nothing and stay the same , and that is unacceptable .
Be diligent , be relentless . The more you are , the easier it will become as you acquire new habits , and a new life . You will become more confident , sure and strong , and continually grow and change .
Days of testing will come , but the more you resist the urge to give up and stop pushing , the sooner you will achieve escape velocity and enter into orbit to become the person you know you want to be .
There ’ s a caveat , though - unlike the rocket , for human beings it never becomes effortless . To maintain your escape velocity and trajectory towards success , consistency will need to become a lifestyle , but you will love the
